NFL GAME MOVED DUE TO ROOF COLLAPSE
NORTH America's severe cold weather [snowstorm] forced relocation of NFL clash between Minnesota Vikings & New York Giants, will played MON-13DEC2010 (AEDT) in Detroit, after Vikings home stadium [Metrodome] inflated roof collapsed. The delay has given Vikings quarterback Brett Favre more time to heal his sprained right shoulder.
Concerns about high winds for the crew clearing snow from the roof prompted the commission on Saturday to recommend Metrodome officials told the league the roof wouldn't be ready in time to play Monday or Tuesday, forcing the venue to be abandoned altogether. The Vikings are refunding tickets for fans that go to Detroit. Free general admission tickets will be issued morning of the game. "It's the first Monday night game at Ford Field in Michigan since Pontiac Silverdome hosted in 2001. Vikings trying season include: firing of coach Brad Childress; investigation of Favre allegedly sending inappropriate messages to Jets hostess/2008; disappointing play of 5-7 team Super Bowl aspired and now the Metrodome Roof collapses. The roof collapse is a fitting metaphor tweeted by Vikings defensive end Brian Robison. AP
